Azilal

Modern Azilal rugs have jazzy designs of vibrant colors, usually, on a white background, they are looser woven with the knots made every third row, which gives a lighter, more flexible carpet.

The wool comes from the sheep of the Azilal region of the Atlas mountains. Vintage Azilal is now harder to find, the wool of these is known for its silky fine sheen, which to a degree is still found in the new rugs.
